Terms of Use

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) apply to everyone who visits or uses findjob.rw (the “Website”), a service operated by Deso Engineering Company Ltd, KN 4 Avenue, Imbuga City Walk, Kigali, Rwanda (“findjob”, “we”, “us”). By using the Website, creating an account, subscribing to our newsletter or ordering an advert, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Website.

1. Our service

findjob is an online platform that publishes job vacancies, tenders, consultancies, internships and other opportunities on behalf of employers and organisations (“Advertisers”) so that job seekers can find them.

  • findjob is not an employer, a recruitment agency or a party to any employment relationship. Recruitment decisions are made only by the Advertiser.
  • We do not guarantee that a job seeker will be hired, or that an Advertiser will receive applications or suitable candidates.
  • Applications are sent to, and handled by, the Advertiser. We are not responsible for an Advertiser’s selection process, decisions or communication.

2. Using the Website

You must be at least 16 years old to use the Website. If you are under 18, you should use it with the consent of a parent or guardian. You agree to provide accurate information and to use the Website lawfully and respectfully.

3. Job seekers

  • Using the Website as a job seeker is free.
  • Never pay anyone to obtain a job or to apply for one. findjob never charges job seekers. If an Advertiser or anyone else asks you for money, do not pay and report it to us.
  • Check each opportunity carefully before sharing personal documents. While we take reasonable steps to review adverts, we cannot verify every detail provided by Advertisers.
  • Information you send when applying (for example your CV) is shared with the Advertiser of that opportunity.

4. Advertisers

  • You confirm that you are authorised to advertise on behalf of the organisation named in the advert, and that the opportunity is real, currently available and lawful.
  • Adverts must respect Rwandan law, including Law N° 66/2018 of 30/08/2018 regulating labour in Rwanda. Adverts must not discriminate on grounds such as sex, ethnicity, religion, disability or any other ground prohibited by law, and must not contain misleading, offensive or illegal content.
  • You must not ask candidates for any payment, deposit or fee in connection with an advert or a recruitment process.
  • You are responsible for the content of your advert and for handling applications and candidates’ personal data lawfully.
  • You allow findjob to publish, format and share your advert, company name and logo on the Website, in our newsletter and on our social media accounts for the duration of the advert.

5. Prices, payment and refunds

  • Current prices are shown on our Pricing page and include VAT. Prices may change, but the price confirmed when you place your order applies to that order.
  • Payment is made by MTN MoMo Pay (code *182*8*1*082478#), Airtel Money or bank transfer. An advert is published after full payment is received, normally within 2 working hours.
  • An advert stays online until its application deadline, for a maximum of 30 days.
  • Small corrections to a published advert are free of charge. A different position requires a new advert.
  • Payments are non-refundable once an advert has been published. If we are unable to publish a paid advert, we will refund the amount paid in full.

6. Our right to refuse or remove content

We may review, edit for format, refuse, suspend or remove any advert or account at any time if we reasonably believe it breaches these Terms or the law, is fraudulent, or could harm job seekers or our reputation. Where an advert is removed because it breached these Terms, no refund is due.

7. Prohibited use

You must not:

  • post fake, misleading or fraudulent opportunities, or use the Website to commit fraud or scams;
  • harass, threaten or discriminate against any person;
  • access or attempt to access accounts, systems or data without authorisation, introduce malicious software, or disrupt the Website, as prohibited by Law N° 60/2018 of 22/08/2018 on prevention and punishment of cyber crimes;
  • copy, scrape or collect content or users’ personal data from the Website by automated means without our written permission;
  • use the Website for any purpose that is unlawful under Rwandan law.

We may report illegal activity to the competent authorities.

8. Accounts and newsletter

You are responsible for keeping your login details confidential and for all activity on your account. Our weekly newsletter is sent only to people who have given their consent, and you can unsubscribe at any time.

9. Personal data and privacy

We process personal data in accordance with Law N° 058/2021 of 13/10/2021 relating to the protection of personal data and privacy. We collect only the data needed to provide our services, such as your name, email address, phone number, account details and the information you send when applying or contacting us, and we do not sell it. You may ask us to access, correct or delete your personal data, or object to its use, by contacting us. Read our full Privacy Policy.

10. Intellectual property

The Website, the findjob name and logo, and the Website’s design and content (other than adverts supplied by Advertisers) belong to Deso Engineering Company Ltd and may not be copied or reused without our written permission. Advertisers keep ownership of their own names, logos and advert content.

11. Electronic communications

In accordance with Law N° 18/2010 of 12/05/2010 relating to electronic messages, electronic signatures and electronic transactions, you agree that orders, confirmations, notices and other communications made electronically (by email, WhatsApp or through the Website) are valid and binding.

12. Limitation of liability

The Website is provided “as is”. To the extent permitted by Rwandan law:

  • we are not responsible for the accuracy of adverts, for the conduct of Advertisers or job seekers, or for any recruitment outcome;
  • we are not liable for indirect losses, such as loss of income, opportunity or data, or for temporary unavailability of the Website;
  • our total liability to an Advertiser in connection with an advert is limited to the amount paid for that advert.

Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you have that cannot be excluded under Rwandan law.

13. Indemnity

Advertisers agree to compensate findjob for any claims, losses or costs arising from their adverts, from a breach of these Terms, or from their handling of candidates and their personal data.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The updated version is published on this page with a new “Last updated” date. By continuing to use the Website after a change, you accept the updated Terms.

15. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Rwanda. We will first try to resolve any dispute amicably within 30 days of being notified of it in writing. If it cannot be resolved, the dispute will be submitted to the competent courts of Kigali, Rwanda.
